Progress vs. Eibach
Progress vs. Eibach
Since they've been out for a bit, I'd like to get some feedback from people that have installed the Progress, and those that have gone with Eibach springs. I do mostly highway driving and don't want something that is too super stiff. How are the rides for the two different springs. The only reason i ask is because i hear a lot of differing opinions on just which are better, but not really why. And feedback is appreciated.
Do your friends have pro kits or sportlines installed? The sportlines are NOTORIOUSLY bouncy. Neither spring has had a 100% satisfactory rep so far. I've heard complaints of creaking and clacking from both Eibach and Progress owners. (More likely than not due to imperfect installs in all cases.) After a ride on progress springs I wasn't impressed, but I haven't been in a car with Eibachs installed.
I think i would tend to go with the eibachs only because i dont want to be too low and have to worry about curbs and pot holes like i did in my eclipse. How about wheel and tire sizes, what would fit in there after a drop with Eibachs? I was thinking 17s would be the next thing i get.

According to the tire chart on http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
to keep the same circumf, within .1", you should go with 205/45/17. The next closest size is 225/40/17. These sizes will keep your speedo acurate to within about 1/10 of a mile per hour.
