we need CF lips

I found a picture i thought was perfect to show to you guys, this CF lip off the norris designs EVO VII is something we should have made for our lancers....I mean a lip that looked similar to this would definately look sick on any lancer and would look JDM for everyone intersted.

there are no CF lips yet, thats why im making this thread so people will join in with me and make a demand for them.... is no one with me on this!?

btw, theres no possible way to put a CF lip on the kaminari bumper unless you custom fab it yourself, there no mounts to put a lip on it...

That car's in England and the lip isn't stock. I don't see what's do JDM about it.

Looks nice and all, but I dunno...driving on normal roads with an expensive piece of carbon fiber that close to the ground may cause it to become damaged easily. It's one thing when you road race, but it's another when you're just driving. Just my $0.02. I'm all for new parts, but I dunno...this kinda stuff just dosen't seem to me like it's gonna go far. (feel free to prove me wrong anyone)

Agreed, even if its in plastic, Id buy a lip styled like that. I have always said that the OZ could use another inch or two on the front valence to help balance the lines of the car out...

I think urethane, or even those HPP's that ABK loves so much, would be cheaper and better for this application. Not like we'd be saving weight by putting extra parts on our cars anyway.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, that'd mean they'd have to be painted...I've had no problems with my RMR Type II lip though, so maybe it'd be similar.

EDIT EDIT: My car also isn't lowered and I've only had it on for a couple months worth of driving. (I've been driving my sister's car all winter. )

well the JDM idea about it is that spoon and mugen both make a CF lip and in 3 years of having one in orange county, it still looks brand new, i dont believe you guys dont want this....everyone in this forum is about all show and mostly no go so this should be a huge hit...

the thing about CF lips is that it looks great and people can spot it easily and if its painted people can see that it is either too low or too high but since its CF and black, its hard to spot inperfections in it....i know accolade made one but someone bought all of them at one time.

While CF isn't the best choice, the idea of a front splitter like that is nice. Useful for higher speed cruising. I'd much rather have something like it than a body kit since all they really do is add unnecessary weight.

i think a carbon fiber lip spoiler would be really cool, they are expensive though, but about the same as any other lip once you get it painted. also i don't think the cf would get messed up easily becauase cf is really strong stuff if it is made right, all that would happen would be it would get scratched up on the bottom where you can't see it, i don't think it would crack or anything. if you look at the december 2002 issue of scc there is a really cool civic hatchback that is yellow with all stock body except for the carbon fiber front lip and it looks really good on that car.

CF is actually not very impact resistant... its actually very light weight like cardboard but it shatters very easily...

Yep. And it's not the carbon itself I'd be concerned about, it's the resin and coating. You know there's a reason people take their CF hoods off in winter. It's to keep them from being scraped or damaged by salt, gravel etc.. Depending upon the lip's design it would be similar. If it's difficult to remove I would especially not want it to be made of CF. I doubt I'd buy one, but I figure it's a concern worth voicing.
