Thumbs up I just have to tell someone!

Not only did I take my ES for her first oil change today I also placed an order with RRM for my (automatic) intake, cel eliminator, and hood scoop. I don't have my headers or magnaflow exhaust yet, but I figured I'd need the cel eliminator sooner or later. Now that I got the scoop, I'm wondering how much a shop would charge to intall it, and remove my front, rear, and dealer emblems. Any ideas? Take care.

Talking

Good to hear that u got your oil change done and ordered the Intake and CEL Eliminator.

I am not really sure about the hood scoop........why would you wanna spend your $$ on that?

The shop will atleast charge you about $300 for the installation and paint. Also, those don't really go with our hoods....but well, car is yours so we cant say much.

You can remove the front embelem, it is just a easy pop-up.

For rear, you will need hair dryer, glue-gone and floss: http://www.joe250.com/cars/evo/badgeremoval.htm

GOOD LUCK

Hood scoop could look good, never really seen one on a lancer before.

I still have mine from several years ago. I have never installed it. I am still debating on it.

Here are a few pics of other Lancers with it.

this is not a great picture

I'm sure there are others. Search the Registry and you will find some more.

might look good on the 02-03s but not sure about 04,05,06.

Ones on the above picture looks like AIR DUCT, for the intakes. Hood Scoop would be something like this:

So that means you ordered an air duct right? If so, you made a right choice which is worth spending you $$ especially if you are getting a short arm intake. Will also look sexy, i have never seen 04,05,06 lancer with one of those so hopefully u will be the first one

Might be an actual subaru style scoop, which would be nice to see.

Its no different than a vented hood or a evo scoop, the purpose is simply to get cold air into the engine bay and hot air out.

uh, apparently I had spoken wrong. I did mean the air duct (like the first set of pictures above) I really don't care *too* much about looks. Got it strictly for airflow. So far I have been able to resist using my credit cards. . . but tire rack has some nice 12.5lb rims for about 180 or so apiece. Then again I figure, if I'm gonna use the credit card. . . . I may as well buy a turbo right? Aaaah. It's the American way but I can't bear to get that far into credit debt again!! BTW thanks for all your kind input!

you know, that is a good question about the weather. We don't get snow here in central florida, but come summertime it sure can rain like a banshee. . . most every day. I know I have seen 'waterproof' covers for ram fileters in offroad magazines (I used to be a jeep nut). So I guess I figured I'd buy one of those, they're like 20$. I wonder how much they cut down on airflow though. . .

the CEL eliminator is free when you buy the header from RRM )

emblems are pretty easy! you should try them yourself
