I have a chance to get one of these puppies custom made for my Lancer

for only the cost of shipping. I'm worried about losing my current antenna in the mail, since he makes them custom and has never made (and has no access to the specs for) a Lancer antenna. My question is how much would a replacement (stock or third party) cost me if the mail loses it? The guys trustworthy, the mail's not, although I could insure or register it.

The opinion part is, what do you think? I'd be getting the black, since my car is Thunder Grey. Thanks a ton.

 

it's the same thread/size as most volkswagons and the Lexus IS antenna. if he's gettin u them for free, can i have one too? i like these ones much better than the straight up chubby short ones.

 

I think your best bet is to find the nearest honda dealer, and buy a s2000 antenna.. it fits on the lancer, its shorter, looks way better, and actually improves reception. it was the 1st mod for my evo, and cost me a whopping 23 bucks. in my opinion, it looks better than the "custom" antenna you posted.
On that note, let me add that the antenna would not be "custom made" for the lancer.. it uses a FUBA antenna, same as the s2000, VW jetta, and many more. look up fuba antenna on ebay, and you can find lots for between $10-$25... how much was this guy asking for the "custom antenna"?
