Black Trim?

Is it possible and easy to repaint the black plastic trim surrounding the windows on the doors and the side mirrors? I was told no becuase they are plastic and have some special coating, but I thought they could be sanded and painted like everything else. Plus I swear I've seen pics of it painted before.

This shouldn't be a problem at all. I don't think you should sand it so much...just scuff it with a scotch-brite pad so the paint has a rough surface to bite to. If you are shooting for a glossy finish, I'd say do base coat/clear coat. Otherwise just use "trim black" paint and you'll be set. Good luck.

make sure to use pleny of clear coat as well because, if you dont you'll get a crapload of ugly specs from highway driving, also if you can... make sure you can let teh paint cure for at least 2 days in the sun... -___-;; unfortunately i didnt for my fromt end piece... >_>;; so now it looks like crap-o-la lol
