I think changing the car color makes it a salvage title. You can repaint the same color but can not change it to different color, DMV will show that as salvage. Correct me if i am wrong....

but what if he likes it, if he's anything like me, he'll run the car into the ground before he gives it up. i plan to drive my ES til it literally dies on me.

I don't think repainting makes it a salvage title. I know it depreciates the value of the car KBB wise, but I don't think it makes it a salvage.

i bought my 03 ES (white) and it was not in "bad" condition but i wanted a fresh cover for my baby so i had my shop paint her Mercedes white and DAMN am i happy. Mercedes white is very close to mitsu white and it looks 10x better as well. There's pics of it somewhere in my threads.

either way just decide what's best for you and what you like!! I had people say that my blue and yellow was horrible and I've had other people see it in person and say that pics don't do it justice, but around here the cops like to mess with me! SO I'm thinking about repainting the whole car cept my new CF hood that I will have soon as SEIBON sends them out! I'm thinking about my original plan if my mom in laws friend can hook me up or let me use his booth! My two choices are Lexus RX 300 Breakwater Blue and the House Of Color Silver (the Skyline from that movie* sans the blue vinyl). Anyway, good luck with whatever you do!
