Need Expert Help on Spoiler/Wing Install Options..

I've got an 03 lancer and an evo 8 wing. I'm looking for different ways to install this so i can nail down the best route.
If you look in the attached pic, you will see there are 4 screw holes for it on each side.
I have 4 screws total, so i'd need to get 4 more if i was to just drill 4 or 2 holes on each side and install with the nut and bolt route. Does anyone know of a way to maybe install a bracket where i can attach and detatch the wing without having to unscrew it every time?

I'm going to be using a piece of rubber inbetween the wing and where it meets the trunk to 1. save my paint, 2. waterproof a bit around where the holes will be. and, 3. to allow for a tighter fit so it won't be metal to plastic and potentially loosen at high speeds and such.

Any ideas? I saw a pic of a yellow lancer awhile back with a kind of bracket and can't seem to find any info on the subject.

2 bolts on each side should be more than enough.

But why will you be needing to take it off on a regular basis?

Ive never heard of any bracket of any type. you have to use a bolt that screws into the wing to hold it on... Not really a bracket of any kind. if you had a bracket you would still have to unscrew it?!?

^true, but i was running more along the lines of a bracket I could attach and detatch the whole side at once instead of each individual screw.... something the screws were attached to and the bracket to the car, so all i had to do was take off the bracket and not the screws.
I wouldn't need to be taking it on and off regularily, I'd just want it to be cleaner if i did take it off.

That would have to be fabricated if it was possible. There really isnt much of a reason to have easy removal of a wing, once they are on there they are pretty much meant to stay. The thing that i could see being easier and require no tools is to use a couple of wing screws, that way you can just tighten them, and loosen them with your fingers. IF you do this though i would say you should use all 4 because that way it will be more stable. Plus if you dont use 4 on each side, it is possible to hurt your trunk because the amount of force that would be generated over the little amount of area. Ive seen trunks get cracked because of improper support.

Also as far as easy removal, if you can remove it easily, so can someone else.

Question, how hard/long is it to unscrew 4 bolts? Just as fast as your hand or powered driver...

Yeah, kinda smart *** arent ya. The thing is that if he wanted to unscrew it for some unknown reason, he wouldnt haveta have any tools, not to mention the fact that half the time there isnt enough room for tools.

I guess the idea doesnt make sense to me... If you dont have room for one philips or flat head or even a ratchet then you have problems. imo

you coudl custom make a bracket that clipped on to the sides of your trunk and do it that way, but i just don't see the point of removing it, cuz then you'll have four holes

lol, you guys are taking this the wrong way. Of course I want it to stay put, i'm justing looking for a better form of ATTACHMENT to the trunk other than the holes. The closest I've come to was the rubber piece under both and i was just wanting to see if there was a bracket I could attatch each side to to make it stronger/firmer/less rattle and stay on a little better. I drive +112mph almost every week over the dames point bridge b/c its fun and don't want this bad boi falling off or rattling too much.

well. When you put it that way.... haha. Cut a peice of metal to beef up the corners of the trunk and create a rubber gasket between the metal peice and the truck. it will beef it up a bit at the trunk and you wont have metal to metal. plus a peice os something under the wing itself to reduce vibration. It will still sway a lil bit at real high speeds but that would reduce it I guess. Ive been at those speeds with Cerious's CF evo VIII wing and it kinda "wiggles" a lil bit but nothing noticible and I just have a styrofoam peice under the wing.

THATS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR! I guess i wasn't saying what i meant and meaning what i said very well. I'll look into a metal bracket for underneath for the screws to go into so the screws aren't attaching to the trunk alone and I'll go with a rubber piece for under the actual wing. best route so far.

woot! haha. yeh. a rubber peice under the wing itself and another rubber peice under the bracket (between trunk and bracket) would make vibration almost non existent and stiffen it up quite a bit. Heck, you could even use rubber washers on the bolts! the ultimate.
