It should be as long as the person behind you can see your lights, you should be alright. Atleast thats what I think.

I didn't really pay attention to exactly how many coats I did...just stopped once I thought it was dark enough. It is not too hard to evenly coat it but to make both lights the same darkness is a little harder. One of my lights is a little darker than the other but it is only a little bit noticeable whenever the lights are on. I believe that it is legal as long as you can see the turn signals from like 100ft or 300ft...something like that...my cousin is a cop and that is what he had said. If you are going to paint the blinker and reverse light just mask it off....it isn't that difficult...just make sure that both lights are masked exactly the same for obvious reasons.

I did not just apply VHT Nite Shades to get it that glossy and smooth!!! After I applied Nite Shades I applied a few coats of clearcoat. After it had dried for around an hour with a fan blowing on it I started to wet sand. Fill a spray bottle filled with some soap water and spray a lot on the tails. Then sand them using 1500 grit sandpaper then sand with 2000 grit (make sure to keep spraying on the soap water). I then buffed the tails with 3M Rubbing Compound...then buffed with 3M Finish Restorer. To make the tails really shine I used Mequiar's Clear Coat Paste Car Wax (The Gold Class).

I decided to take a couple night pictures with the lights on to show you how the light comes through (this is not with the brake pressed). I didn't bother with trying to take a picture of the turn signals. I might get red bulbs and see how they look with them (if they are bright enough). Sorry about the pictures being sort of blurry.

I am also debating whether to tint the sidemarkers as well.

Debaged the ES on my trunk today due to popular demand. It does look better now that it is gone.

I did paint the outside of the housing...not the inside for people that might be wondering. The wetsanding and polishing is what makes the Nite Shades appear to be part of the housing.

I think you did a good job tinting them, but I liked the evo7 depo's. I know what you're going through though lol, I changed my tails like 6 times. stock-chrome depos-stock-tinted-stock-cf depos. You're car is going to look real nice with the lip kit.
