Why don't people like wheel lights

Why does everyone have a bad thing or 2 to say about Valve stem lights on tires (tireflys). I think they look good. Let me know what you think.

I know Blue, and "Red white and blue" is illegal in FL
But green is still good and Purple in some cases (kinda girly if you ask me). But I still stand by mine. I will have a pic on here in a day or so.

They're a distraction and a nuisance while driving.

Uh... hard to explain I guess... but it is just one of those "things" its like LED washer fluid ports, carpeted dashes, rope light interiors, fringed car ceiling, sheepskin seat covers, playboy mudflaps, chrome fender flares, hubcap spinners, and a list of other odd gimmicks. They are just an "obnoxious" and "not right" kind of addition. I don't see the cool or allure in a circle of light surrounding your wheels as you drive, it's an annoyance to other drivers and kind of inane. I guess you could say it's like the happy meal toy. It is kinda cool in it's own way, but there is a reason the "adult" meals don't come with toys.

I'm not dissing or flaming or anything just arguing the point a bit. I personally don't like them because i have no interest in them and they are far from my style. I was just illustrating above the possible reasoning etc that may also go against them too.

Later.

Steve

i bought some for my car last summer, but never installed. I put them on my mountain bike instead. Seemed a bit tacky, as i saw cars driving down the road with them. But to each their own.

It's a glitzy mod that doesn't do anything performance-wise. Cool for car shows, not cool for daily drivers.

whats cool about me is that i do **** cuz i like it myself, i dont do it cuz others will like it, i do it for me.

and if someone dont like 'em, i say **** 'em.

...and besides, only God can judge me.

one more thing, i dont see why anyone should be afraid of doing something they want, cuz some ****in' moron's gonna diss. that someone's got no say in it, its not his car, its not about him, and he has no right to say ****, he can say it himself....

the way i see it, we're in the land of freedom. thats how i see it

i know thats how everyone here thinks, by that i'm meaning that everyone here agrees with my policy.

if u like something, do it. dont NOT do it cuz ur afraid some jerkoffs gonna say ****, he's being lower than low just by insultin to begin with.

oh by the way guys, i didn't mean to sound real harsh and rude above, my tone's a light one.

I agree with deux on this one all the way. I gave you my opinion up top as to what I thought... but dude if you want to do it, then go for it. If you like it then rock on. I take **** all the time for the fact that I lowered my car and am redoing the front end. "Why are you ricing out that cheap car" uh.. yeah that's nice I love my car and love driving it and I want it to look the way I want it to look :-). So I'm doing it! If you love it then rock on... if you hate it, that's cool just don't try and rub me on it all the time.

You are the one that drives the car... so make it what you want it to be!

Later.

There's an old saying.. form follows function.. What function does it serve? Personally I don't go for the neon, lights, blue hid (fake) lamps, clear lenses.. All of those things are inexpensive modifications to make your car recognizable.. But I find it hard to look at a car with that stuff on it and not laugh.. Rates up there with giant spoilers and decals.. Yes, I realize I am an EVO owner and have one of "those" spoilers.. I really can't explain away that one other than its factory..

When you make modifications to your car.. you have to weigh out if you like its appearance, will it hurt the performance of your car, will it help, will it get ripped off (a big question!), and is it trendy.. I remember selling all those neon colored wiper blades, antennae, mud flaps, etc, when I worked at a performance/speed shop.. Most of that stuff ended up in the garbage..

If you have to ask if something looks good, don't bother with it, your gut is telling you not to..Heheh..

well, you can find your tire valves faster when putting air in them on the side of the highway at night?

I'm not squite sure people buy them for that purpose:-)
