My lancer

My plain old 2002 Lancer ES, finally I have a couple mods on it so I thought I better take some pictures. Car is automatic with 91k miles on it.

As you can see, the tires have been replaced with much wider ones (I don't remember the size though)

My dad and I installed the spoiler

Magnaflow muffler

All of the mods I have are the Bigger tires, Platinum tipped spark plugs, Custom SRI, RRM Pulley, and Magnaflow axleback.

Car pulls quite a bit better now than it did stock. Intake and pulley helped out quite a bit, the exhaust did add a bit of upper RPM performance.

DEFINATE future modifications- NGK Iridium Spark Plugs, NGK Wires, Either a SAFC-II or an RRM Piggyback, and Fuel Pressure Regulator

Possible modifications- Ported TB, Ported IM (and maybe, but more than likely not, Headers, Cams, etc.)

Quick question, I have heard it is much better to tune if you have an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator. Also, SAFC-II or Piggyback. I have searched on this topic and found no conclusive evidence... SAFC-II looks cooler and seems easier to tune but piggyback might have more potential. Any first hand experience between the 2?

Moving to Show & Shine.

Piggyback - easier and better. You're fine on the stock FPR.

Oops, my bad. I completely forgot about this section. Anyway, with the piggyback should it be tuned for the mods I have? I know that ported TB and IM won't do much by themselves but will they expand what the piggy can do?

Be better off getting the header instead of the wires and the plugs.

I don't know if it is me or not but every once in a while my car feels like it is pulling a trailer or something. I don't know if it is the plugs or what because I have bosch platinum's in which I heard aren't supposed to be the greatest. I would definately get the header over the plugs/wires but the thing is that the plugs/wires from NGK are 50 bucks, the headers are 350 not installed. Are those bosch plugs hurting performance? They have only been on for 10-12 months.

I've had my NGK iridiums in for about 6 months now, at first the car ran alot better. It has alot of "HOT & COLD" days. Sometimes i can keep up with SE-Rs, others Its all i can do to keep up with Civics . Part of a 4cycl. i guess. Its gets real depressing at times. My cam from RRM should be here on the 8th(over 4 weeks later). Hope to have that installed with the Pully i ordered months ago. I'll be pulling my plugs also and I'll let u guys know how they look. TBC.....

I am actually going to do NGK V-power plugs (copper) as they are cheap as crap and conduct much better than either platinum or iridium. The do need to be changed every 25k miles though. Also, I am going to do new wires. Will post when I get them on, and like atilla said, post cam results!

Realistically unless you're turboed or heavily modified, plugs are plugs, NGK iridiums are nice, but you won't notice a power difference over standard NGKs, densos, etc.. The Bosch plugs are crap though, plenty of people have had problems with them. Wires aren't really worth it in my opinion, the stock ones work just fine and unless you're going to upgrade the entire ignition system, what good can 2 wires do?

Just because mine are stock and are wearing out a little. Plus, a little color in the engine bay wouldn't hurt.
