damn these tri-state roads!!! ... maybe use a towel to cover it?.. i've bent my passanger side rim in 3 spots and its still driving strong!.. hehe. i think i need to get it fixed before the entire rim cracks. try getting it dont at a shop. it shouldn't cost more then $65 to fix the bent part. they would heat it up and then re-shape the damaged part

Use a block of wood to keep from scratching it.

I had one of my rims repaired and repainted good as new for $120. Half of the lip was bent in 5/8ths of an inch and the paint was no where to be seen. Now, no one could ever tell...

Use a rubber mallet and put a rag over the area you are hitting just to avoid rubber marks.

(I just slammed my door on my leg the other day and it hit the very corner of the door. Pushed the door out about 2 inches... I used a rubber mallet and tapped it back in place with a rag over the paint. Looks like nothing happened. If that works on my door it should work on the wheels?)

AHH... NOTHING LIKE THE STREETS of NYC... haha

I live in queens and yes, I get sudden heart attacks when I go over un-noticed potholes. Its whack how I have to lay-out and remember certain routes to take everywhere.

I'm on 18's, and lucky for me I haven't had any major dents....yet!.. I have a few curb marks but that's only cause my sister and pops don't value the cost of f-ing rims.

I had that happen in my evo once the lip bent pretty bad on my stock enkies. There is a tire place in queens around 110st and northern blvd with a yellow 24 hour tire sign. They took my tire off, heated up the rim with a blowtorch. and banged it back in perfect shape for 25 bucks. The only way you can tell its been repaired is the black mark from the blowtorch since they dont refinish the wheel. For 25 bucks I dont care, I use them as my winter wheels now.

I had the same issue on my 17's... be careful if you have a polish lip rim. I took mine to the Flushing Junkyards by Shea stadium... it cost me about 60 bucks to repair but it looked okay. I could definitely tell that it was repaired cause the guy who did it, repainted the lip. But the *** didn't tape everything around it and just sprayed... i ended up having silver paint on my gunmetal spokes. It was a good job! besides the painting portion.

Plus i hear once you put torch to a lip it tends to turn funky colors.

I don't like the design of the stock evo 8 enkeis and I was going to use them as winter wheels anyway so I could care less. I do see where your coming from though. If I had expensive wheels that I like I would probably get them profesionally repaired.
