I just ordered a R1 Tanabe muffler off e bay for 46$. Do you think it was a good deal and would the muffler sound good on the lancer?

 

It should sound just fine. I think the most important aspect is the diameter of the piping inside the muffler, cuz 2.5" sounds hella deep and loud compared to 2.25".

 

most universal mufflers will fit, but not worth it man, save up just a bit more, to get a bolt-on muffler. the 40-70$ mufflers u see online, are nice, but they have to be welded on, gonna cost u more to weld it on, while with a bolt-on will cost u like 10bucks, plus usually sound abit better and better quality.

 

i bought a r1 exhaust for the same price from ebay...paid 20 bucks for the local muffler shop to weld onto it...added a testpipe and intake and it sounds as good as any catback i have ever heard...just my .02

 

Yeah the r1 got a 2.5 inlet so it should have a nice deeep sound. it was between the r1 and the apex n1.all i need now is a test pipe.
