'03 OZ Projector Retrofit!!!
Thanks for the comments everyone. The difficulty is more than a 10. I had to cut a giant hole in the back of the headlight, used these stiff pipe holder things made to hold pipes to walls. Basically you have to cut a whole bunch of stuff and then fiberglass to smooth it out. I used the 94-97 headlights i think...im not too sure. I know how to get the lights to blink but i need a different type of relay...

did you just replace the turn signal with the condenser lens? or is that the entire headlamp assmebly just transplanted into the lancer headlamp body?
if you just used the condenser lenses, it would be a lot cheaper for us DIY'ers to just buy some condenser lenses and mount them in the place of the fresnel lens that is in the turn signal, then do a rewire job and call it a day.
if this is the case, then i may just opt to do this instead of the rewire setup i discussed in that thread. problem now is finding the appropriate condenser lenses at the right price. . . although if anyone here owns a lathe and is willing to manufacture something to my specs, you could be the new owner of a lucrative lens manufacturing business

They are not condensor lens. I have the entire projector assembly with the shield and all in there. Took plenty of cutting to get it to fit though. And as for the blinkers, i need a normally on relay i think (the one when the relay is activated it cuts the constant power goping thru it.)
...well looks good, clean, but even if you make the side markers blinkers you cant really see them head on. Id get some clear amber plastic, and take out the little fake mesh peices on eigther side of the lower grille and put some sort of blinker set up there. (who says they need to be IN the headlight, right?)
as far as i know, the only thing that makes a projector special is that condenser lens. in theory this prject should work without taking the entire assembly and trying to patch it in. im not implying that you did a bad job, but it could be expensive to buy entire projector assmeblies when all you need is the lens. the cheapest i have found these lenses so far is about 40 bucks a pop for one offs. . if someone has a lathe, they can make acryllic condenser lenses for dirt cheap. unfortunately i dont have 100 dollars worth of R&D money and i dont have a lathe so both cass are out of the question for me right now. im guessing that the amber fresnel lens that covers your blinker is about 75-80mm diameter. so a comparably sized condesner lens should just be able to be fitted in the same place with minimal cutting and epoxy work.
i would like to pursue this, but like i said, it wont work with no money or no lathe so . . .

And as for the back of it, its pretty ugly but ill go take some pics tomorrow anyways. I wouldn't recomend anyone to do this project because it took me an entire day and then i had to unseal and reseal, due to fogging, countless times untill i got it right. If you do attempt this you will need a LOT of silicone sealant, the entire back part of the projector is almost entirely covered in it. Also aiming will take you a long time as you have to cut away at the plastic from the back of the lights to make it angle correctly
Project total:
Projectors - $10
HID Kit from Banzai Express- $195
braces for housings - ~$5
Silicone sealant 2 tubes - #12
TOTAL: $222 for HID projectors not bad huh =)
