Love the Louvers

If you want to give your opinion on why i shouldnt do this, why it is a sin against god/nature/Mitsubishi/imports/creation, so on and so fourth, i dont want to hear it, so please keep it to yourself, i dont plan on most people liking what i want to do. Infact, most of you will probibly hate it. I like it, i want it, its my car, get over it.

Does anyone know where i can get rear window louvers for a 2006 Lancer?

If you like the thought, go ahead and comment however,

...see, I used to like this forum, but every time I ask something I get 10 "Oh god" "why" "Please Don’t" replies for every one reply with something relevant to say

Perhaps i should just go get a CF hood and trunk, and a EVO spoiler,

ok...in all seriousness...do you honestly think someone makes a louver kit for the lancer?? you're more than likely gonna have to either get something custom made, or buy one and mod it to fit.

Are you trying to bring those back or something? Can someone say 'I'm bringing retro back?'

I agree. If you don't like it, fine. Express it in a constructive way. If you like it, fine.

I'm pretty sure that would be a custom job... louvers really aren't meant for four-door cars, I feel like they are more of a coupe thing.

yeah, like in the pic. its on a mustang... I only ever see those on 2 door coupe cars like trans-ams or mustangs. I think it would have to be custom. never heard of it for this car.

I know its not the same look but this is a sudgestion that will give the rear window a different look. tint it then search ebay for one of those rear window spoilers.
I dug up the thread for that spoiler for yah encase your interested.
clicky here...

Good idea, but maybe something smaller than on that mustang, less noticeable but still good looking? Add the vortex thing from an evo too, that might look sweet

great idea, i like when ppl think of something totally dif then the normal. But i would go with the rear window spoiler. the louvers just seem they only look good on mustangs. If you find them on install them plz post pics. I could be wrong. Good Luck!

If you plan to do this, I would think you would want to find a louver set for something like a mustang. The rear glass is more upright like the lancer's. Something from a camaro or transam would probably just block your view. Kind of like putting blinds on the back of your car, because of the longer decent from the roof to the back on a hatchback versus the shorter drop on the back of a coupe. If you started with something made for a more upright rear window, even if it didn't line up perfect it might me close enough or if it's made out of metal (as some of them are, don't ask me how I know) you might be able to bend the louvers up a little to clear up the view. As for the size issue, with Bondo or a welding torch (depending on the material) nearly anything is possible. Cut them in half, remove a few inches to get the size right and bondo (or weld) them back together. Like how body shops come up with one-off body kits for cars that body kits are not made for.

i would be all over rear window louvers. i have been wanting some for a long time. mercedes-benz offered a louver kit for one of their sedans as an option in the late 80s/early 90s. A+ for good idea.
