MY '03 Lancer ES (A Continuing Work in Progress)

Hi all-

CadiLuva thought I should go ahead and do one of these, get some suggestions, advice, new projects that a broke college student can do. I've already done some work to my baby, so I'll post what I already have. Thanks to CadiLuva for a lot of ideas on my baby.

Please, post only things constructive in nature; if I wanted someone to bash talk/bad mouth me, I would have gone to the Subaru Forums.

Anyways, here's what I've done so far and I'll post images as well:

- Changed Headlights to Nokya 9007 7000K Arctic White Pro Halogen Bulbs
- Plug and Play Wiring Harness for Bulbs
- Painted Front Grill (Thanks for the idea CadiLuva)
- Front and Rear Strut Bars
- Short Ram Intake
- RoadRace "Piggy-Back"ECU Unit
- Painted A-Pillars, Cubby Hole, CD/HVAC, around Side View Mirror Controls and Decorative Dash
-Debadged with only remaining

Nothing too special yet, but it's slowly starting to come together.

Wheel Covers

Currently, I'm working on taking my Wheel Covers and Painting them along the same scheme as the grill (I know it's a mortal sin and I should get rims, BUT, i'm in college, working two jobs with an insane amount of credit card debt, so i'm a little short on the cash influx to do this now).

I think they're coming out pretty well so far.

yes you are off subject, and you really shouldn't do that, people will not like you.
but still, most people i know don't look down on lancers, really the only people that do are Evo drivers.

yeah i saw the rims and tires you have going. i wish i didn't lose money in craps tonight and won so i would have the money to take them off your hands. looks like i'll have to pick up some more work shifts and try to scrounge money together.

i'll look into getting an OZ lip kit. thanks!

in a little while we are gunna need a sub-topic section for "Build-Ups"..

anyways.. your car looks good chico.. i like the grill with the red triple diamond definitely clean werk.. all around clean Lancer.. i suggest saving for rims OVER ALL ELSE..

BTW did you do the interior werk yourself??.. i would suggest taking all the panels off cleaning them down and giving them a few coats of clear.. very lite coats of clear.. so that the paint doesnt look raspy.. also look into cryptos build-up and he painted a few other panels as well.. keep up the clean werk.. dont rice it out on small cheap things.. clean is always better than rice..

When I first got the PB, it was sort of a pain to install it and make sure the wires stayed crimped since i didn't have a soldering iron and wanted the opportunity to take it off if I wanted to. It takes about a half an hour after install for the unit to learn your RPMs (idle, etc) but after that, I definitely noticed a big increase in horsepower from my stock lander (plus that was the first upgrade I ever installed on this car, so i noticed it right out the back). the problem I kept having was one or two of the wires wouldn't make a connection and the CE light would come on, but once I got them fully connected and what not, i've noticed a difference.

i'm almost certain that when i did my first 1/4 mile run and i had it installed, it wasn't fully functioning, because shortly after the CE light came on, and when i fixed it, whoa baby. So i'll have to take it back to the track again and see what it does to my time.

update: i finished painting the other wheel covers for a temporary solution to my rim problem. everything looks good so far for what i can afford.

question: i hope someone didn't just say that it is NOT hard being a full time student in college, working two jobs, being actively involved in my fraternity, having a social life and finding time to work on my baby. oh and sleep. i know that wasn't just said. i'll assume it's a typo though and no worries.
