Well guys, as many of you know I have the EVO3 Shark Racing Bumper. Before my car went into the shop to get its makeover (full kit being installed along with many other goodies).....I showed the bumper to my body shop and he said "expect fitment problems, there will probably be a gap. Its common with fiberglass kits"..... He does alot of kit installs on honda's and accuras. Anyway, my car has been gone for 2 weeks now. I called him today and He told me that everything fit fine accept the front bumper. He said there was the expected gap and there going to spend some more time on it. Now, Heres the thing, I dont have extra time or extra money. It costing me about $1700-2000 with the given estimate for everything I am fixing and getting done. I told him to stop if He cant fix the gap issue and I'm going to just get the Kaminari Front bumper if anything. Quality wise the bumper is great, smooth no ripples or warps. Flexable yet tuff....but I dont think I can afford the extra labor to get it to fit perfectly. I'll keep everyone udpated on the issue.

Has anyone gotten this bumper yet? Or am I still the only one?

 

Oh a added note. I only spent $295 on the bumper (shipped to me) Shipping was like $125 so i got it for $170. So I'm not bitter that theres a fitment issue, just wish I had the extra TIME to have the car in the shop longer but i dont... Money can be made to get it to fit but the time is what i dont have

 

lucky you my bumber and hood fit awsome but they more waves then the ocean and imbarressed to bring it to a body shop but i can fix it my self so shouldent be to expenciv

if that's the same bumper sharkracing was promoting that it fit on their lancer with no problems...

yeah he said theres a gap....and he said he wants some more time because he can make it fit...

This was the shark racing manufactured, not the accolade. the qaulity is great, just a fitment issue. I expected it but i dunno if i wanna shell out more to make it fit.

 

im a newb and all but have you seen how it looks and this "gap"
if not can't they just kep telling you its not fitting and charging you.
i woudl think take a look if you like, finish it. if you want it fixed ask for a estimated min-max time and price and make them stick to it

 

gap??? u talking about on the fenders area where it connects or the front below the grille? cuse if u talking about the front thats norm for the gap with a/m bumper but the side areas those prob just need 2 be shaved?

 

I'm not getting shafted on the labor charges. I got a awesome deal. The shop owner is my best friends uncle that i've known since i was 5. So I'm not concerned about it. He said theirs a gap. I didnt get into detail because I told him to try 1 more time then scrap it.

 

I had no problems with my bumper I got a little gap between the hood and the bumper about a 1/2 inch but that's it.

Spoke to my shop, they got it on and its ready. Primed and painting tomorrow. I'm picking it up on Friday (hopefully).

Car is dropped (Ralliart Shocks, Tien springs)
Progress Autocross perches, and swaybar
RMR Strut
RRM Grill
