A Few New Spring Mods!
A Few New Spring Mods!
Well show season is approaching and I knew I had to do something about my engine bay. I've been getting killed in that area at the shows for the past few years and I finally decided to do something about it. I also got a few new goodies. Check out the pics for details!
This is what the engine used to look like. Notice the ugly blue charge pipes, the clamped on blow off valve, and the overall dirty appearance.

Here's the engine torn apart.

Here's a pic of the charge pipes hanging up during the priming stage. That's right, no more blue!

Here's some friends of mine wet sanding my strut tower bar. It was looking a little worn so we decided to repaint that as well.

My buddy Nick doing some painting.

Nick reassembling the charge pipes. Notice the NX intercooler sprayer bar is mounted as well!

Clean engine bay (pic doesn't really do it justice though) with freshly painted silver charge pipes! Way nicer than that ugly blue!

We used high temperature engine primer and paint. The color we went with for the pipes is a metallic silver color. It looks really great in the sunlight. Unfortunately we didn't get finished until it was dark out so it's hard to see how nice the finish really looks.
Blow off valve flange is now nicely welded on!

New Sparco shift knob! Also expecting new Sparco carbon fiber pedals from UPS any day now!

that looks awsome man! Im not sure if I like the vinal type things on the center console but if I ever get a turbo im having all my pipes powerder coated either black or red
I was originally going to do them the same color as the car, but either having someone do it, or getting cans with my color mixed up would have been pretty expensive. Plus since the engine bay is still silver I figured I'd accent that by making the pipes a similar color.
