i went to my first autox event yesterday, left the house at 0545 and met up with my friend, we drove up to loudon NH for opening day. once i actually got out on the course i had a blast, it was so awesome.

my times could have been better, but everyone said i did very good for my first run ever. at the very least i stayed on course! of six people in the class i was ranked 5th... so at least i was not last.

i can't wait for the events to be on devens... the place is maybe 10 miles from my house so i have no excuse to not go and race.

it was tons of fun. after the runs it felt like someone had turned down the volume on the rest of life. i had to go find the people i was with to get my times because i didn't hear them, haha.

 

awsome man. My first time out I was 2'nd to last in my class as well... which was SM. I beat out a completely stripped neon. lol. It is a blast.

 

i got lucky, tech didn't put me in SM and let me run FSP. maybe they thought it was fake CF? haha.

 

Are you planning on doing any HPDE? Looks like you had a good run. There's something satisfying about seeing what your car can do after you screw around with its parts.

 

i probably won't do that, i think i will stick to autox. my friend said that sometimes you can pay like five bucks and get some track time... but he warned me i'd go into the wall if my brakes weren't tip top. i am going to replace my brakes soon, so i think i'll stay off tracks like that.

you put on ksports, right? my friend has JICs and he wants to swap 'em out... they are getting difficult to adjust, he said he might go with megan racing coilovers.

let me know how you like the ksports. i like the TEINs a lot, i'd definitely buy 'em again. the weather up here has pretty much frozen them at their current setting though, but that will happen to just about anything in new england.

 

Glad you enjoyed it! I know I did on my first time out! I didn't get 5th in my class, actually 4th vs. things not even in my league...like a AWD Eclipse with $10k in it (that's what the guy said). LOL And my best time was only two tenths off his best time! Learn to drive, son!

 

I like the ksports. Megan has a great set up but JIC is top notch.. I would stick with those personally.

Ok guess I need to chime in here! It was a great day out there, dude you did really well! The JIC's are doing well. However they are not meant for New England winters. Im just sick of trying to work on them all the time. They are perfect for some place they do not use salt on the road!

 

hey i think i saw you there driving around at one point. I have a WW evo8 with a full carbon rear wing. i was there running my ford spec racer on the big track.
