Took some pics while doing an easy mod
About the gauge cluster which year evo is that from? Is it a direct plugin? and did you have to take it to mitsu to have them set the milage on it to your engines milage?
Nice Looking Lancer you gat there by the way and I agree with you momo and recardo's been out b4 the evo 8's - the cluster, steering wheel, and seats is what we normal lancers should have had in there from the getgo.

you will not find the Evo seats from any Recaro supplier.
They are Evo specific. The only way to get them is to either a) own an Evo or b) buy them from an Evo
And yes, I realize that Recaro and Momo were out WAY before the Evo was out.

Amby... can you take a few more detailed pics of the throttle cable relocation? As well, I noticed that you do not have a cruise control module on your throttle body... did you remove it? I'm assuming that you did since you have the Evo 8 steering wheel?

The cluster is from an 03 Evo I think since it doesn't have ACD. I didn't have the dealer adjust the mileage since I bought the cluster with more mileage than I had and just waited till mine was the same to swap it in (it sat under my bed for a month and a bit).
Rims are being dealt with. Getting 15" bronze Rota Slipstreams. The car is lowered on Ksport coilovers.
Again, you can get seats almost exactly like the evo seats from any Recaro distributor. If all you are going to do is b!tch and moan about how bad it is for me to get Recaros from an evo, find a new hobby. I didn't feel like spending 1000$ a seat plus the cost of new rails, sliders and brackets when I could get two Recaros for 900$ with everything I needed to bolt them in. I bet if I had them reupholstered no one would even notice.
My car didn't come with cruise control. I'll take some more pics when I get home. One thing to note is that the accelerator feels slightly stiffer today but that could either be all in my head or it could just be a result of tightening the cable somewhat when I put it back on. Whatever the reason, I actually prefer it.

Exactly, those are the seats that eventually went into the evo. I think the japanese and euro evos have the high side bolsters, they only trimmed them down for the US market.

Ok here's the bolt the throttle cable used to be attached to.

Here you can see the bolt on the firewall where I moved the bracket to.

This is the route I took for the throttle cable.

good write up. You see the thread in evo section about this? I may do this soon just to clean up the engine bay a tad. I love the look of a bay with minimal wires and crap showing. Car is shapeing up nice amby. I need to get myself seats and a wheel simpy for better road feel. sucks sliding around in our stock seats. I havnt gotten a wheel yet simply because I feel like it would be horrible to remove my cruise... even though I never use it. I'm lame.

Yeah I saw Sir Lancelots thread and decided to do it for myself. Seats make a hell of a difference, especially when you have the suspension done up. Got my mini battery and rims on the way (woot woot) and my brother in-law is getting me tires for 150$ a pop. Expensive but good rubber ain't cheap.
Seats make a huge difference for sure. I just had to buy new tires because my proxes 4's are down to the steel belts. I ordered BFG G-force sports, high perf summer tires. What tires did you get? That cost wasnt expected so That pushed back other mods such as seats.
mini battery is another thing I shoulda jumped on. Those are nice with the bracket that comes with it.
