yeah i HAD a lil rubbage ... i thought i f'D up my MPH needle at 1st... i was madd pissed lol.... and it did get stuck at 20 mph.. but after a couple minutes of usage.. and putting everything back together it works fyne!
Alright from looking at the back of my gauges i can see a single trace that outlines nearly all of the gauges, it doesnt connect to any of the traces that actually light up the markings on the gauges either...so im guessing it is just a ground...my question is, can i cut this trace a little short to cut away the peice that is making my mph needle stick without damaging the light son the gauge?
K I answered my own question tonight. THIS IS IMPORTANT IF YOUR MPH NEEDLE IS RUBBING!!!! take out your cluster but have the gauges installed...makre sure that the black piece that holds the lcd for your milage is off...take a penceil and mark around the edges of the base around your mph needle....remove the gauges and take an exacto knive or a box cutter and you can remove the area inside that circle, but you may have to remove just a tiny bit more to make sure it doesnt touch the black part of your needle...dont worry about the trace that you will cut off on the back of the gauges, it is just a ground and doesnt need to be as long as it is...becareful, if you cut too high above your needle, the black peice you attach to your cluster wont be able to hide it because it wont go that high. Hopefully this helps, it sure helped me
when you guys connected the red and black gauge wires into the existing dimmer switch, which wire did you connect the red gauge wire to?
I attached the red one to the yellow wire from the existing dimmer and the new black one to the old black one.
I still get power to the gauges but when the brightness of the gauges is turned all the way up everything else in my dash dims (the clock, the AC lights, the cigarette lighter light, the cd player face)
And when I turn the power to the gauges all the way down, everything on the dash gets brighter and the original gauge lights from the black gauges shine through underneath the white ones.
Was I supposed to unplug or disable the original dash bulbs? And was I supposed to wire the red gauge wire to the white/green wire on the dimmer?
Has anyone else done this, or had this problem? I know I messed up I just cant figure out where....please help!

also...and this might be a very stupid question but please bear with me because I'm new...
Do I need to keep the original dimmer dial. I like the look of the new one for the gauges a lot better and would rather try to mount the new one in the old dials place.
Would it be possible to simply cut the wires off the back of the old dimmer dial and run them straight into the new gauge dimmer, thereby allowing me to remove the original one from the dash...or is this a bad idea?
