Does anyone have pics with their lancer with aftermarket hid's?

anyone on the forums got aftermarket hid's on here whether its kaixen, rrm, or any of the various other types of plug n play on here? if so could u post how it looks from the cockpit of the car and what the intensity is in Kelvin (K)? please let me know because im trying to find whats the best buy, and whether i should go with losing my low beam and just having hi beams or vice versa.

I don't have any pics but I'll be honest with ya about my HID's. I have an 8000K kit and they look great. They aren't too bright and won't blind passing cars, but they are bright enough that they do provide better vision than stock halogen low beam bulbs. Here's the downside though. I definitely miss my high beams. The HID's are brighter and are better than halogen low beams, but they are definitely not as bright as a halogen high beam. When I'm on really dark back roads that I've never driven on before, I really miss having my high beams. I have to drive slower because sometimes at higher speeds I can't see far enough of ahead of my car to see where the road goes. I love my HID's and I'm glad I got them, but if I could go back and do it again, I would get the ones they have out now that also come with a halogen high beam integrated together with the HID bulb. That way you get the best of both worlds.

ok this is alittle OT but:
Arnt you supposed to use Hid's with projector headlights? or do the projector part of the headlight just help "project" the light better?

yes, its best to use projectors because it "projects" the light downward and panoramic rather then just straight forward

Yeah, HID's are supposed to be used with a projector lens, but since they don't make projectors for our cars, we don't have a choice.

might be a little late here...but i'd recommend getting a retro fit with 2005 Acura TSX projectors (clear lense) i had that on my lancer when i had it and it was amazing. and i believe you can get an HID ballast that will allow you to keep your high beams.

i got my 6000k bi-xenon kit, low beams were 6000k which were whitish blue and i kept my high beams. they were a tad bit brighter than the stock high beams. the amazing part is how small the bulbs are compared to stock, and the heat those bad boys project! i love em! especially when u can see the white and yellow lines on the road, and the interstate signs are visible, as are mile markers.

my kit was bought for 150 for dual beam from importatlanta
