nah, the only reason i was thinking about the enkei's was beacause i had seen so many good examples of them on this site...but like you said, and make me realize, customizing cars isnt about copying someone elses style...its about creating your own and making people copy you

Wow, 15.2 pounds for the 17's. Thats pretty good.

As for tires.....I use ebay now. My local discount tire store charged me $165 for ONE cooper tire plus instalation. Later I found the same tire for $80 on ebay plus free shipping.

NOT cooper

They look cool, but they are not all that great in the rain. I slide like crazy.

40 for the offset is good for our cars. I think the tire is 215/40/17. Mitsuboi has 17's he will know.

yeh. I have 17x7 42 offset enkeis. I run 205/40/17 but I think either 215/40 or 205/45 are closer to stock diameter. 205/40 is not far off at all. Im slammed and I do rub fender on real hard corners. Other then that I just rub fender linder of bumps or dips. Could raise it 1/4" and probably be fine.

I would rather run 215/40/17 cause its a wider tire but the sidewall is a smidge taller. I couldnt be dropped as far as I am to run that size. 205/40 is the usual size to run on the lancer with 17's because it is safe. Not very aggressive.

Plenty of great tires. BFG's that I have that I mentioned are awsome. Great reviews from friends of mine that also have them. Very stiff sidewall. I used to roll over my proxes 4's when I was autox'ing them at 42 psi. I have my BFG's at 38 psi and havnt rolled them yet.

On the website it said they come in 4x114. Thats our bolt pattern.

Before you give up and buy something else....just keep looking.
