Hey well here was Round 2 of trying to put them on. (actually 2.5 because I crumpled it and threw it in the trash after being disgusted from putting them on. I forgot that i had to show my dad that i made the vinyl work when i put it on so ya there was more crinkles )

The Rip

So just to let you know a heat gun or blow dryer would help a lot. I'll take pics of Round 3 when me and my dad get to doing it

I'll recommend it to you when it actually works

Round 3 was a success.
Now I do recommend it. The main thing to know is once you peel it off the paper to instantly stick it on to the tail light and the use of a heat gun or blow dryer can help stretch it on the places where theres a lot of tension so it will be possible to even the vinyl out
Also start from one side and work your way to the end instead of starting on the center like how it says on the instructions because the center part is the trickiest

Well here are some pics

The comparison. Not that much difference but enough to make me see the difference

And the Final Product

I would recommend vinyl but its really tedious that's all

tinted tails dont look very good imho. A very light tint looks ok though.
not to mention the fact that if you really did get pulled over, the cop would have taken down your plate number for sure and traced it back to you.

r3alest:

lol it's called car profiling. so next time you're cruising around they'll pull you over even if you aren't doing anything.

I think you should learn a little bit more about the powers that the cops hold over you.

Yah I can believe that you got away from the cops by doing what you "did." But that doesnt mean they become and let you be. You get reported to all the patrols out there and next time they see a "mitsubishi lancer, spoiler, silver, rims, tinted taillights... " ur basically "****ed."

As for tints:

I plan on getting mine done, so this thread has helped.

I love that part! I can see him now doodleing in his little blues clues notepad with a crayon or something thinking, "damn black taillights!" The fact that you said it so casual "and i took off" leads me to believe you did it but its whatever. I can hear him now, "Code blue! Code blue! We got a runner! A silver Honda with black lights!"

It doesn't matter if it was done or not. I think it's funny reguardless. I can imagine that situation. and if I was at the friends house when you explained the situation I would have been ROFL!

BTW how did you do your lights? I love em! I want to do mine like that.

Its not flat, thats why there is a reflection.

Noob question: Would light window tint work just as good as a vinly? or is pretty much the same thing?
