Thumbs down Sunroof visor

The visor came on the car when I bought it. Never did like it, so I tried to remove it the other day. Needless to say the double sided tape actually ripped off some of my paint

So now I guess I gotta put it right back on just to cover it up. It's too bad cause my car looked so much better without the thing

ps I just washed her after this pic, I know she looks dirty

edit: it looks like I still have a layer of paint on their still, but would you guys recommend touching it up before throwing the visor back on to prevent rust?

Ah man! Is that bare metal? No touch up paint? Good luck with the repair!

okay it really does look like its down to metal. Would you guys recomend patching it with some paint (don't care what it looks like) then just covering it with the visor again?

hmm... if your gonna put visor back on.... I would at least sand that peice a lil and hit it with primer so it doesnt rust. Best thing is to get a shop to paint half way up the sun roof.. they could paint from windshield to that point and blend it. wouldnt be to pricey and you could keep the visor off.

You'd be surprised, that stuff happens a lot.

If it doesn't pull the paint off, it scratches the hell out of it. It's a problem with all cars, not just mitsu.

Definitely sand and primer over it the metal! Get yourself the larger container of touch-up and have at it...

Thats why when I got one for my eclipse, I got one that didn't mount with 3m tape. It mounted with somekind of clips that clip into the inside of the sunroof area. looked nice and didn't damage the paint.

Yet another stupid problem with our cars. I mean seriously, why didn't they use clear coat on them?

^ that happens to ALL cars with sunvisors on them. They are a waste of money because they all scratch up the paint, clear coat or not.
