gota find wheels!!!

right now i have a very nice pair of 14" enkei wheels for drag, but i want some nice 17" crusing wheels.

Can someone tell me what offset means, and what configuration i need.

I know it is 4 lug but is it 4x100 or 4x 114.3? and what is the difference? thnx.

You are going to get hammered for not doing a search, but I'll be nice and provide some information. Offset has to do with how far from the center point of the wheel (half of the width) the hub will meet the wheel. As far as looks, a lower offset wheel (which has the mounting point closer to center) will stick out more, have more room for wider tires, and are less likely to have the nice tucked look on a lowered car. The higher the offset, the more the wheel will be sucked into the wheel well. Here is a link describing offset from The Tire Rack.

Offset Explained

Hope this helps, and if you run a search, you'll find many suggestions for offset specs for the Lancer. Off the top of my head I think 40mm is a decent offset to avoid rubbing on a lowered Lancer.

As for the configuration, since you have an ES, your configuration is 4x100 (the 100 means how far in mm the lugs are apart from each other). The LS and OZ versions of our car have the 114.3. With the 4x100 you have many more options for wheels because that is the same lug configuration as Honda Civic.

the main thing about the OZ and the LS is that they use allow wheels instead of steel wheels with covers that the ES uses. as far as how it affects performance, i'm not sure. maybe mitsu hit a deal with OZ and that was one of the stipulations?
