Nice work so far, like others say needs a bit of touch-up but I'm sure they pointed those out to you already. Otherwise pretty nice. No driver's side airbag FTL though

Yes because if I saw a car with that kind of interior I would assume the owner did other things to it.

not to bad. a bit over the top and patchy in my opinion.
seems to busy, and overdone. I think it would have been better to switch out an OZ interior, and put suede on parts of that instead, that way there would be less contrast, unlike the greys and blacks.

you did a great job putting it together, i'm just not a big fan of the final outcome. I think with the ES interior, its best to either leave it as is stock, or completely switch out with an OZ or Evo interior. Only doing certain parts looks cheap, like with the glove box

thats just my opinion though. As long as you like it, is all that matters

If you like it thats what matters. It will be better when you get it all completed (the details). I just kinda like my cheesey fake wood dash accents, so I wouldn't change a thing. Pics don't tell the whole story, and like I said, if you like it...

There is something to be said about someone who will do the work themselves.

^ The 3Yds. of suede, I bought off a guy I worked with in FL, for 80 Bucks (Score.)
The Interior/Exterior Paint on the doors.. (whats a couple cans o' paint? Also include Spray Adhesive..)
Peicing together Sparco Knob, Sparco Steering Wheel (tho the one pictured aint it,) Evo Pedals.. eh, around 225 of the top o' my head.
BOSS/Splash Hub Adaptor, 225 alone.
Sparco Seats... HUGE Score, 2 for less than than the cost of one.
Seat Brackets, 90.
XM Unit... I forget. I think 30?
Push Button, 25.
Monitor and all Gauges about 400. Evo Rear Seat was a trade.
Floor Clips for the back seat, 5 Bucks.
Labor to install fabric.. a couple days.

Feeling, when chicks touch suede, and say "wow, thats hott.." or "You did all that yourself!" ... Priceless.

Crypto: I didnt wanna swap an OZ interior, 'cus that means Id'a had to spend more money; buying interior parts. However that was the original idea, before I decided that I'd rather do the work, than spend cash.
I knew it would mean more to me in the end also. So that alone motivated me.

Thats what I dont understand.. "other things" like...???
Normally if I see a car thats modified in any way at all, I would assume, they have done "other things" to it as well, besides the obvious.
I dont see how that would lead me to believe on a sudden, that theres something questionable about the owner, or the car..
Im not tryin' to start an argument.. seriously; just tryin' to understand what ya mean.

How did you get the evo seats to fit? They're not a direct bolt-on (as experienced by many people) and are actually wider than the lancer seats.
If I saw a car like that on a lot, I would assume the owner modified things like the suspension and the engine and that the fact such mods were not present meant that there was a problem and the owner took off those mods to try to hide it (ie. make it look like they did nothing but the interior).

You wouldnt think... "Gee, maybe he just doesnt have those mods yet.." ?
Why immediatly jump to " Hes shady! Theres something Wrong!"

Thats actually the case.
Im not hiding anything. I havent gotten to the exterior 'cus I started with the interior.
I havent bought Shocks yet, so I still have TEIN Springs sittin' in my room, new in the box.
I have a body kit, minus a front bumper in my garage, 'cus I still need a Ken Style.

I dunno... I think ur logics kinda silly IMO.

The Rear Seat fits fine.
The Back Rest just stuffs into place snug. Its perfectly wide enough to fit without loosening (tho it has that slight gap you saw, at the bottom.)
The Bench is the same fit as stock, you just need to replace the floor clips with Evo ones (5 bucks from Mitsu.)

Everybody is paranoid when it comes to buying things, it's just something people do to try to avoid being screwed over. If I see a 700$ TV being sold for 300$ I don't think "oh wow, that's a bargain", I think "hmmm, so it's either stolen or broken". When I see an STI for sale with 59900 KM on it (just before the warranty runs out) I immediately think the owner is selling it because they beat the crap out of it and don't want to deal with all the problems that will pop up out of warranty. Like I said, if I saw a car that modded, I would question what else was done, how it was done, who did it, what they could have ****ed up, etc.

We all know the general public looks down on people who have modified a car and then try to sell it. We deal with it on a daily basis.

But, is this really a proper thread to discuss it in? Or is it more because you couldn't just say 'nice work, not my taste, looks a bit unfinished' and move on?
