Replacing stock side mirrors
Quick question. Have any of you guys replaced the side mirrors on your Lancer? I found some aero style mirrors on ebay with the built in turn signal but before I buy them I wanted to know how hard it would be to remove the old ones and install the new ones - I have the powered mirrors and figured I could just plug the new looms into the preexisting one and then try to find the turn signal wires in the engine bay (that should be fun). Anyways does that sound right? Thanks.
Most of those m3 mirrors on ebay are manual .. read carefully. Also look at the front of the mirror and compare to the shape of the stock .. will it really fit or will it need fitment? Some people have modded those to fit their cars. Look on the underside of your existing mirrors and you'll see a few screws. I believe those allow you to take off the mirror. Ya may havta re-wire .. not sure.

Thanks for the advice digdat. They are power, but I'm not sure I want to mess with fitment issues myself. That just means going for eyebrows or new fog lamps for now.
i got my power m3 mirrors in ebay as well...........
...the fitment was no issue....
can't say the same for the other ones...
*i got em off a seller by the name of evo vector....

The seller this time is trendgear, apparently he has a bunch of things like mirrors and lights in a warehouse here in California. He mentioned using a new base plate which is supplied with the mirrors. Thanks guys for all of the advise.

I changed my mirrors, have to take the whole door panel off, and then unscrew 3 bolts, take off, and change as needed. I don't have the m3 mirrors as many people are talking about, I have the aero mirrors from Creative, the same as Chris'(Kontradictions) Lancer. I didn't have any fitment issues other than the screw in the passenger mirror broke off while screwing it in, and the paint is chipping quite a bit in some places on the mirror. But back on topic, I changed my mirrors and have had no major problems or issues. The wiring was easy, it came with wires, just had to change the wire real quick on the mirror itself and plug it into the slot on the door panel for the mirror. Took about 10 minutes for everything.

Try this link to an e-bay auction:

I'm not sure if you need amber signals though and I think these are blue. This second auction has amber lights:

Both of these are for power mirrors and look pretty much the same. The big differences are one has a blue signal and is black vs. an amber signal and is white in color. Hope that helps.

Pics of mine are in my profile on my car. Fitment it good, but not exact. The base sticks out a little bit toward the window, but doesn't cause any install issues or anything I guess I'm just picky. Install is a job though, as mentioned you have to take off the door panel and splice new wires into old motor wires, plus you have to run turn signal wires up to your front turn signals so those work too. If you lived in CA by me I'd give you a hand with em.
SUre, screws first......2 under the screw caps (you should be able to see those) 1 in the bottom of the door tray (pry up the cap cover in the bottom). All that's left are those plastic snap things...you'll have to pop those out all around the panel, try prying with a screw driver lightly...after you pop those off, lift up on the panel until it comes off, then disconnect the wires to the power door/window stuff and the panel should come away from the car. Hope that's not too confusing!!
