Wheels and tires on order...
All right.. even though my tires aren't completely broken in yet, I couldn't stand the wait and decided to test them out. I took the car out to Highway 9 and let her rip. I swear the tires were made of glue -- absolutely no tire squeal. Enormous difference in these tires VS stock. I was surprised how much. Just when I was feeling bad-*** and smug, on my way back an STi pulls up behind me and rides my ***. I go as fast as I'm comfortable with, but I can't lose him. I pull over at the next turn out and let him pass -- and never see him again. That thing is a beast.. and there's absolutely no way we are anywhere close to that kind of performance. But that's okay, I didn't expect this car to be anywhere near that good. I definitely recommend upgrading your tires. After the swaybar, this is the best mod I've done.
I don't like how the stock rotors/drums look either, but it's not like I'm making crazy power to justify the purchase for more stopping power/efficient cooling.. I don't see why people rag on the STIs. They will tear your *** to shreds in the hands of a capable driver. And I'm sure even in the not-so-capable hands as well. There is a ton of technological magic under there. You'd be wrong not to be afraid of its potential. I
Fair enough, that's why I went with 15" Slipstreams when I had my lancer, they hid the drums really well. People rag on the STI because they A. got caught up in the mitsubishi fanboy parade, B. watch too much street racing videos and C. have never driven anything faster than their mom's Accord. It's easy to talk big when you have no idea what you're actually talking about.
i have the teins with a 1.22 inch front and .9 inch drop for the rear....not a big drop but they do rub...when i go into my driveway or have the wheel fully turned ......i need to find a solution...i work at a tire shop but i am restricted on how much i can do to my car
