its a actual keyhole light ring made for the lancer, it was just never included in any package, it could be the only lancer in the world with one, but hopefully not for long =P

Just as a suggestion... which you probaly did anyways... what I did to diffuse the light was to just take some fine sandpaper and sand the leds a bit to make it cloudy. It eliminates the one bright spot problem.

I'm also going to experiment sometime this week with moving the lights to the top which will hopefully give it a more straight on of an angle so that I can eliminate the shadows.

Also, did you come up with a way to cover the lights so they aren't visible to the driver?

I'm just curious, because I just bought a whole buttload of leds and will most likely have a bunch extra. Would anyone be interested if i made like a strip that could be inserted above or below the cluster to illuminate it like mine?(depends on what I find looks better)

Everything would be put together for you, the leds, resistors, wires, light covers (still thinking on how i'm going to do that), the strip itself. All you would have to do is unscrew and take off the blackcover to your cluster, place the strip and screw the cover back on, and than connect the strip to your 12v power source. I'll probaly even make the wires long enough so you can run em to the cig light if you want.

This is only an idea and I have to see how plausible it is. I'm still experimenting with the placement of the lights, but if there is enough interest I may be inclined to make something.

Also, how much would you pay for something like this? The strip would contain 3 leds with the resistors.

Anyways, when I get my shipment of LED's in i'll experiment with making the strip and I'll take pictures of it so you can see what you are getting.
