My Lucky Thunder
Exactly. Although I have to admit the pimpaliciousness of it stops at the looks and ease of not shifting. lol. The ride is all business. I wanted the drop of springs but with the longevity and performance of coilovers, at a price between the two. My back pays the price if I have to go anywhere more than an hour away. That's why for the long trips, I'm glad my fiancee' just got a VW. The soreness could have to do with me just needing to start working out again. Even with that though, this car is a ton of fun. And when you spend nearly 2k on a suspension, any gripe you could have about the trans being auto goes out the window at the turn of the first corner. It still gives me chills to this day.
I keep the engine bay clean with semi-regular (about every 6 months) washing with Gunk Citrus Engine Brite (because the regular stuff smells like gasoline vs. this smell slightly better like citrus-scented gasoline). The Greddy Ti-C was gotten through Speed Element within less than a week of when I ordered it.
I've been kind of angry about my car lately, but the wash was kind of a bonding experience. It wasn't really the car's fault that I was angry. My job hasn't been going so well and some feral cats scratched up the side of my car near the gas tank unsuccessfully trying to rest on my car (as if that wouldn't be bad enough), while I was at work. It probably hasn't helped that I can't afford to drive it as much as I'd like now, and I mostly drive my fiance's brand new Rabbit when I go somewhere with her. I finally got fed up after a month of dust and filth and the few days of the scratches being there and picked up some Quixx and I can't believe how well it worked. The scratches are gone. Long story short, it's now washed, with tires aired up and polished, and I'm glad to have the car again.
I guess on top of all that other stuff, it is surprisingly frustrating having a car that is finally "done" as far as everything you wanted to do to it. I'm realizing the truth behind the saying that "moding is a disease that can only be cured by poverty." You would think finishing it would do that too, but I just find myself embarassingly checking out other cars (S13, AE86, new concept Tiburon, 240Z, the list goes on), wanting to add to the collection and start another one.
Actually, the interior is just that dark with the tint, lol. It's the original factory "wood" dash that I knock on for good luck whenever I tell people that it's the only car I've had that hasn't been catastrophically destroyed... yet.
