if u check out the wheel offset calculator, 1010tires.com link u will see what i mean..
15x.5 +45(stock oz wheel i think) and 17x9.5 +12.. only moves the inner side of the wheel in 1mm.. but pushes the lip out 71mms(just under 3 inches)

custom fenders meaning, purchasing a whole new fender that can accommodate the width, or some intense rolling? how much can a fender be rolled anyway? either way i think a 17" is a tad too big for a small bodied lancer, 16x7 seems like a good size but i LOVE how aggressive the evos look with wide wheels!!
EXAMPLE GIVEN

I saw this evo at a cupcake car meet in austin, and this picture doesnt do justice for its beauty.. No homo. anyway, it looked so aggressive, and i want a similar look

by not fitting under the fender there r a few ways to fix it.. but it all envolves rolling or molding some type of wide fender to accomidate the excess wheel..
I am using evo fenders to mold them over the stock fender. once there molded together and cover the wheel, i would remove any excess fender that was ont he inside of the wheel well..
donnno if that makes sense.. but simply rolling the fender wouldnt be enough. either adding flares, or building custom fenders r the only options to tuck big wheels.
