Body kit quality

Hey..well, I admit, I don't know much about the body kit business, as a matter of fact, I had to learn about fiberglass the hard way. To make a really really long story short, I had a 94 accord that was stolen and stripped, they found the car but without bumpers and alot of other things. In trying to put it back together, I ended up buying a body kit for it to replace the stock bumpers that I had on it, and it ended up being nothing but trouble and heartache. Both the front and rear bumpers cracked and broke on my so many times, even from going over speed bumps, that it ended up costing me wayyy more money than I ever planned on spending. This is not to mention, at the time I bought the kit, I thought it was supposed to fit. It was only later i found out that you have to buy the kit first, then have it fitted on properly by a body shop.
I have a Lancer now, and as of now..I dont plan on getting any bodykits for it because of what a bad experience I had with my accord, but what I'm wondering is, are there any body kits out there that exist, that are made of the same material that the stock bumpers are made from? are there any non-fiberglass/flexible parts to improve the looks, and maintain the quality without making your car cheaper by adding cheap fiberglass to it? are there any kits that just fit automatically?Thanks in advance for the explanations. I really dont know much about kits.

some kits out there from body-kit.com and sharkracing and accolade to name a few. There are kits coming out from other companies (you will see threads around regarding them) and they usually say what they are made of.

There is one thread that has the different materials explaind. I will copy it and paste it once i find it.

Most kits still require a little "Fitment" when you get them where others require you to remove, adjust or find another place for some parts and modify the body kit. There are alot of threads on this just search body kit fitment and you will get alot of threads.

Here are some terms:

PFRP = Pliable fiberglass reinforced plastic (Bendable)
FRP = Fiberglass reinforced plastic
CFRP = Carbon fiber reinforced plastic

the only kit out there that is 100% sure to fit is the kaminari kit. ugly if u ask me...but thats going to fit w/o modification from a body shop.

also almost all of the kits that are urethane or PFRP will be an almost exact fit because they can make more exact molds for these types of material. fiberglass sucks...most companies will switch to PFRP cuz that **** is amazing.

Fiberglass kits aren't all created equal.
You have to get good quality if you're going to avoid cracking.
I had a kit for my Mirage, and I slammed that thing so hard into the ground in front so many times... Never cracked at all. In fact, nothing on the kit cracked at all.

So, shop around for better quality fiberglass next time.
I would have to say I have heard that some of the suppliers mentioned in this post have had inferior fiberglass products...

i used to not like it but now i love it, and kaminari is well established, and great products.
