Lots of Pictures! 2009 Lancer GTS (LED Headlight Modification) - No 56k!

I finally got around to taking some pictures of my car since installing the "alternating white/amber LED driving and parking lights"

I bought the car as soon as it hit the US market (may). I was waiting for the 09 for a while since it was going to have the bigger engine. So as soon as I could I snatched up a graphite gray 09 GTS with sun/sound and navi. Since then Mitsu has added an optional touring package with Xenon HIDs, unfortunately retrofitting those would be way way way too expensive... something like 3 grand was a quote I got from the dealer.

Anyways since I do work for Sylvania, lighting is a big deal for me. I upgraded the headlights to SilverStar Ultra bulbs, and found an LED modification kit from forum member "dafarmer69." Install wasn't too bad and the end result is great!

The lights look great and it's awesome how they will alternate between white and amber when turn signals or flashers are on. The next thing I want to do is upgrade my fog lights. Otherwise I'm done modding, the car rides great, pulls very nice with the 2.4l engine paired with the 5spd manual, and all in all I think it looks awesome! Springs would be nice, but the last thing I want to do is void the warranty on a car I worked hard for.

Anyways sorry for the story, please see pictures below and comment if you would like.

Sweet mod man! How hard was it to get the LEDs to alternate?

I bought the homemade kit from Dafarmer69

The actual LED bulb is probably made up of at least 20-30 LEDs, half are white and half amber, the white ones stay on by taping into the wire going to the side parking lights, and then when the signals are triggered the amber ones turn on instead.

The kit cost about $100 and it took about an hour to install.

Dang, how did u get urs in march. I got mine first week in may and they said it had just come off the boat in april. I was calling all the dealers in the area and the soonest I could get my hands on one was May. Anyways you must have been just as anxious as me. I'm so happy with the car so far, I have 7100 miles on it so far with no problems.

Well, I had to buy a car and I din't want to buy used anymore. So I went to look at the '08s at Norco, Cali. I ask if they had the '09s and they said yes they are in the back. They had to prepare it and wash before handing it to me. I was like hell yeah. Got the paper work to proof it.

I want that fuel cap.
