New turbo lancer on the forum!

Just got my custom turbo kit finished this last weekend
Pretty much just followed some of the other custom 16g projects on this forum to see what I needed to do to customize the kit to fit!

Sorry for not posting a step by step progress, but I wanted to get this done as soon as possible and cleaning my hands and taking pictures would've slowed me down big time. lol! Took me 18 hours total to do custom work and install the whole deal!

Here's how much I spent:

All that is left is a wideband gauge and a good tune

Turbo runs like a dream! I had a few vacuum problems in the beginning, but I capped off the exposed nipples and currently boosting at 5psi until I get a tune. Also had an oil leak from the feed line and return line. JB Welded the return line and bought the proper fitting for the feed line and 2 days with no oil leaks!! So far I'm having a blast with just 5psi. Hoping to push about 9psi after a good tune.

Getting a new front bumper and hood soon. KSport Front Bumper and CF hood

Modified the existing bolt holes to fit the lancer head. And a little bit of the flange itself to clear the radiator hose inlet

Had to trim quite a bit on the turbo in order to make this fit (Damn water pipe...)

Custom painted this myself

Had no problems making this fit. Just had to twist and turn a bit and it bolted right up!

Customized my RRM Test pipe. Chopped it, fitted it, marked it, welded it

Had a bit of a problem doing this. Almost all the nuts broke off trying to remove the cover. Good thing I was able to thread some new ones onto the existing shortened studs

Probably could've gone a little bigger

very nice!!!! Damn makes me jealous i don't have a evo intercooler and so does the evo 8 downpipe work like a charm? cause right now im using my stock downpipe and was hoping to use a real downpipe. So you feel the pull now huh? i use the highest octane pump gas.

That's awesome man... Hopefully mine will be on by next month. I'm basically using all the same parts as you are. So as far as fuel, are you just using the wrx injectors(what year are they) and the walbro fuel pump? Do you Have closer pics of exactly where you had to grind off part of the turbo?

I've been piecing it together patiently since March 20, 2008. haha I know because that's when I got to Utah and decided its GO time!

The stock evo 8 downpipe fits perfect. You have to adjust the hangers a bit, but it works great! I ended up cutting down my RRM straight pipe and welding it to make it fit
Let's put it this way, I love being planted to my seat now Can't wait to turn up the boost!
I'm using what they have here and it's only 91 Octane.

Awesome! Good luck with that! Totally worth it. I used '02 WRX injectors from www.wrxtuners.com and yes the walbro fuel pump you'd find on ebay or speedcorps or just about anywhere else. I'll have to post up some pics. Let me find some

So it feels good? I just noticed that I don't seem to have a coolant line on my turbo...

Really? You should if it's stock evo 8 turbo. You mean you gotta get lines for it?
