how do I?

remove the button that pops the trunk when the key fob close to it? can i use the fishing line idea just like if i were removing the emblems, or are there any wires behind it or what? I want to paint the outer chrome part white just like i did my emblem, but i'm worried about messing something up if i try to remove it.

I'm pretty sure there's wiring behind there.
The trunk doesn't pop open magically

hahaha i know the question sounds somewhat dumb, and i was actually thinkin about it today, lol. the reason i asked was cuz i am seeing a lot of debadged cars that have no keyhole, no button, no anything on the back of their trunk door, so i was confused

there is a cover on the inside of the trunk, take that off and then you will see that there is two clips holding the FAST key button. very easy to do. what color do u want to paint it though? n there is def wires! hahahaha

I just posted about this on a different site..

You have the take off the carpet around the inside of the trunk first. It has the same pop-out screw type things like in the engine. After that there are two small screws that hold the button. Remove (and dont lose) them and the chrome ring comes right off. I did 1 light coat of primer and 2 coats of the bumper paint I used on my grill. Make sure that it is completly dry before you put it back on though. Hope that helps!
