ALSCCA autocross event pics.. 11/23

Ok well. i went to the event in my car.. and had a blast.
i ended up being put into STS class..
65 cars were competing..
my class was small and i came in 2nd.(1st was a gti golf, beat me by 1.8 seconds i think,)..

I do have a big excuse meter, it was my first time atocrossing in my car, i had completely bald street tires on, i was competing against forced induction cars... and i cant think of anymore right now. but im sure there is more.. but my fastest run a 61.022, pretty quick i think, most everyone faster were in the race prepared and r compound classes, basically the crazy fast race cars. and fastest lap was a 51.2

anyways. i didnt take many pictures because my friends show'd up late and didnt do it for me.. but bunch of nice cars showed up, only down side i think was that it was a little cold, but still worth it.

this is what i do have..

one crazy fast honda van

overview of most in parking lot

one cool snowmobile powered cart

LS1 POWER'd RX7

and the 5'0 were there to..

walking around being bored tkaing random pictures
(its UA vs AU already going at it one week before the "big" game)

Im in this pictures

me saying Hi or Bye.. at end of the event just before my last fun run

thats about it.. this was only my second event ive been to because ive been doing other things rather then the legal stuff.. but i enjoy it. its alot of fun and most everyone is real friendly..
i do have crappy tires, this was my first time to actually race in the event, and the few riders i did have were very surprised i could drive my car, only own side was my really crappy tires, so i was definately overdriving them..

next event my car will be alot different, ill be in a different class, SM street mod i believe, not 100% sure, and ill actually take the subs out next time as well.. (car should be gutted by then and new tires)
If i can hold out a little bit on my currently bald tires then i will be on competition tires for the next event.

LOL.. k funny story really.. it had 4 drivers.. so it got pounded on, two of the drivers were new and were running around 70seconds. and 2 were pro drivers, one had a fastest time of 62seconds, and the fastest for that van with one driver was a 60.08 i think..

so it went around the track 20 times. and fastest time was basically 60seconds, 1 second fastest then me.. it had r compound tires, and they have another van thats fully built like that one, and it puts out 500 hp.. that one was a close to stock motor, with just crazy suspension work.. all stripped, all rebuilt, roll cages, no passanger seat (untill someone bolted one in to ride along and try to teach the two beginners)

someone said they work for honda or seomthing like that, and they fuilly built two of those vans for autocrossing and drag and stuff like that.. it was freaking fast.. everyone was watching the van, and not the nsx.. (oh, nsx fastest time was 70seconds) and that red evo was a 58. something..
wasnt really writing down all the times.. just remember what they announced at the end.

ya that looks like fun, but alot of those (atleast by me) are for extreme beginners, normally everything from autox to solo and timed events are more competitive.. but if you have fun do it.. and i dont see how you can ever go wrong when your with friends, groups make everything a blast.

Solo is waaaay more fun I agree, but it depends on the field. Where I live most people with cars in the Lancer class aren't willing to put in the time to get licensed to compete in solo

The guys with the can are my heroes lol
