headlight bulbs

hey all! What has everyone found to be the best HID look a like bulb on the market? i dont feel like paying 300-500 ucks for the HID kit. There is a japanese resailer on ebay saying they have bulbs that are 100w and burn at 5000k which is pretty good for 15 bucks.

First of all you're going to want 55w/65w bulbs to be safe, since those are the stock specs. Don't worry, 100w bulbs aren't any brighter, I've tried both. As far as which is the best, I don't know but I heard sylvania silverstars suck. I don't even know what brand mine are they just say XENON in big letters. I like them.

yeah, don't go over stock power. you will fry something.

with that said, i love my eurolite plasma fusion bulbs (available in crystal or purple). i'd go with those or maybe catz bulbs if you have the flow (about 70 bucks as opposed to 25 for the eurolite).

Halogens are Halogens, they don't get any brighter with more wattage or higher Kelvins...

the temperature is just the color, which will eventually fade away...

So as far as eBay headlights are concerned, other than the prices, nothing else is important nor will make your headlights brighter...

IMO, for headlights, you either go for the best (HID's) or get the cheapest...

Koba & Hiper 9007's aren't too bad..
both about $10+ shipped..
