I have a used aftermarket hood I want to put on my '03 Lancer ES,

My question is does there have to be a heat shield of any kind to protect the hood from the engine like the stock hood has?

Its the Evo VII Techsport hood by the way.

I am not entirely sure what the hood os made of so I dont know how it will be affected by heat....Thanks

 

I have an Evo VII hood and I don't use any type of heat shield.
You should be fine.

 

I don't have a heat shield on my Evo conversion hood, I think you'll be fine, I have had mine on for atleast 6 or 7 months now without one. You said techsport so it will be the same hood I have, just a different front bumper than i have
