So should we get the 24V 1156/1157 or the 12V 1156/1157 LED's??

and seem like the website doesn't have replacements for our side markers/parking lights...

and what's all that 12/19/30-LED sh*t?the more the brighter?
and there's even a Narrow/Wide angle difference???

titanium bulbs..get em at any pep boys, murrays, autozone, etc..made by apc i think? they usually only carry 1157. but you can ask them to order 1156's for you. no extra charge. they are very dim during the day though but give em time as the titanium coloring slightly fades (not too much) and thus flash brighter than at first.

Question

Hey, check out this guys' auctions. They are a good price but I'm curious about if they are legal or not in pa. I asked a guy at autozone and he said he thought any chrome bulbs were illegal amber or whatever.

Oh yeah. are super white turns illegal? and what can you do with those amber driving lights? you know the ones on the side of the headlight

LED's are awesome i got em all around...front signals, rear signals, and side signals...
1156 size for front and back, and then 194/168 for side blinkers...
white Led's appear a little purplish at night when on but are bright as hell and look awesome...i have not had a problem from cops so far, and i use red LED's for the rear, since i did get in trouble for using white rear blinkers..
i got mine off ebay, and have lasted me already a year, and then like nggrmxn said...they will make your blinkers blink really fast, since "i believe" they draw less wattage than a standard bulb..

and no..you don't have to change any wiring...check out my pics in my profile to see the white LED blinker at night

seriously, testors is the way to go. The bulbs are totally silver, totally legal and they shine fully bright. Take a look at my registry for a comparison of stock to painted. I used testor's aluminum colored paint.

ok so i was reading about LEDs on this site that sold them and they said that LEDs ARE NOT brighter than norm lights heres the quote "LED bulbs are generally not as bright as standard incandescent bulbs, they have many advantages over filament bulbs but brightness is not one of them."

http://www.superbrightleds.com/1157.htm

i thought they were brighter

To clear up that site some, they offer 2 types for some LED's, one type is narrow and the other is widefield

if you have ever looked at one of them keychain led things, they are narrowfield bulbs, they shoot directly forward and hardly any light comes out of the sides cept for a little glow... the widefield will have more light coming out from teh sides than directly in front... so they will fill the light housing in your turn signals better, however will only be brighter at night, during the day they may not be as noticeable as you want.

IMO I would go with the narrowfield bulbs for turn signals because they should offer the best day/night light output than the wideband.

And it is true, it may take a few leds to light up the same amount of space that a filament bulb does, but only because a filament bulb disperses light equally out all sides of the bulb, whereas a LED can only disperse light either straight forward or if there is an inverted lens on it, out the sides more than straight forward.

Also, to answer other questions from above

Get the 12V bulbs.
No, there is no wiring changes needed for LEDs, they go in the same socket as the bulbs you are replacing.
They do blink faster, but only because your car thinks that one of your bulbs has blown out because they draw less current than a filament bulb, this is not a problem, nor does it affect anything except the speed at which the bulb blinks... it will blink roughly 2 times faster than the filament bulb you have now.

Phew... anymore?!?

stumped me on that one... its also a lot of money to just test 1 out too.. id try to get some dimensions of it, figure don't try to get a bulb that is larger than the standard 1156 width and you will be ok, cause I think the bulbs fit with little room between the sides...
