hmm, this is a difficult question. i wanna get rid of the shift boot and replace it with one of those things.... i dunno what they're called. it's just a piece of plastic i guess that has little notches in it where the gears are... i think they look a lot better than the shift boot, i'm trying to find pictures but i'm not seeing any, anyone know what i'm talking about?

something like that right? i think your best bet would be to customise something.

 

You're looking a visible transmission gate ala Ferraris.

 

You would want to get a custom center console panel, then just make sure it's the right shape and location. Maybe make ones out of cardboard and test them first, then take the final template and get it made of plastic, fiberglass, or (oooh) carbon fiber. Come to think of it, you have a nice idea. Post pics if you ever do it.
