Lancer Hood
Lancer Hood
Im looking for a hood be it carbon fiber maybe but i want like the transam looking beefed up ram air with the double bulges is there anything like that out there for lancers?>
there's the Evo6 hood which is different but i guess closest to the one you want..
i really dont wanna see two bulging holes on a hood of a lancer. it's a little seeing it on a transam and a civic or lancer. but that's just me.

Yes plz
Does anyone know where i can see a picture of the evo 6 hood? Also where i can purchase one? I like the way the hood makes the car look it adds beef to the lancer making it stand out from all other lancers and also it looks different than a evo hood. Ive seen this type of hood for civics and they look nice even though i hate hondas, I basically like the transam ram air hoods so if anyone has more info please let me know.
It sounds like you want a hood modeled after the Grand Prix, with the twin intakes molded on top.
There is no Lancer hood like that available (thank god) but you could but the scoops from any truck parts catalog and have them molded in. They wouldn't be functional, and the would cost a lot to get looking good. Kinda a wast if you ask me.

The only reason you'd run into a problem is if you have an open filter element, like a short ram or an open airbox.
Getting water on the engine isn't likely to cause any problems unless you have a frayed electrical cable or you manage to submerge the entire battery.
Needless to say, this is unlikely.
You could always cover the holes up with plexi, if you just want the hood for show. That would prevent problems. If you need function, however, you're sunk if you're really worried about water.

Yeah, I haven't heard of a company that makes hoods for the Lancer that you want. Personally, I'd go with the Vis racing cf hoods, several people on this forum have it and it looks incredibly good. Their hood just seems to be very fitting for the look of the Lancer. And I've always had nightmares about the type of hood you want after seeing this picture...
