08 Project

Ive been experimenting with various companies regarding the looks of the Lancer and Im wondering if someone has come across a new one other than whats posted already. EVO X carbon parts for the interior common sense would say should work. The exterior I am aware that Id run into complications. Is this thinking correct? I tried EVOXs gauge pillar and I did expect close to a glove fit which didn’t happen but close enough to be whatever. Part of the reason I came to the conclusion was that the gauge "buldge" on the pillar sat close enough to the inside of it the throw it off a little. The bracket is the culprite. No time to tweak it for now.

Any ideas would be appreciated. I have much clean up to do on my car but soon I will have the opportunity. Ultimatley Id like it to be "feature" capable and clean and prescise..ideas? Show+GO
Heres a quick run down of my experience. Hope it’ll spark an idea or two for people here which in turn we could all feed off of.
Project 08

-RRM Turbo kit-BOV adds all the fun. Cant feel a thing already. Got use to it. Cool to give rides in being its a Lancer.

-Stage 1 clutch kit-props to RRM for the install (Roman). Stiff as hell after install, I know its going to be that way but this was crucial like stiff lol. It did ease off after break in as it should have.

-RRM Axle Back-odd but didnt line up very well. tweaked the hangers as best as possible but placed exhaust at an angle slightly. Talked to RRM about it during clutch install and showed him what was up. It was the first he'd seen like that. No issue until turbo install which through it off more, enough to contact heat shields under the car. leaks were most likely so I took it to a muffler shop and had it sliced and diced and its now as it should be. Props to Harleys Muffler, worth the extra travel, outstanding job.

-RRM Solid Motor Mounts-great product!! Failed over time but could be very well in part because of me. Washers that came with the mount still left a gap I could stick my finger in and it rattled around. I assumed that the washers were of no use and removed them. Mount filler eventually popped out. RRM has still provided help under these circumstances. I will be sure that the new mounts have no gap but I wont know until I see how the new ones will fit.

-Rear Sway Bar-Perfect product

-RRM Grip Springs-Perfect, noticed a difference in noise over bumps. Hard to describe the sound. Like a hollow tube clunk I guess. Never brought up to RRM

-RRM Carbon splitter-Outstanding, took extra adjustment only because I have after market flare on my bumper

-RRM carbon bumper cap-Cool look and easy

-RRM carbon grill-Great look and quality, took slight brainstorm to install. Only could get one screw to screw in the grill and it wasnt tight. Made it work through clever wire placement regarding the mesh and cleverly hidden...dare I say it..zip ties lol!! Never brought this up to RRM

-RRM carbon trunk lip-5 stars, simple, great

-RRM carbon license surround-Gives me a neutral feeling. Great product and only took slight adjustment. But left me feeling like it seems out of place some how.

-Alccolade GTS Front bumper flare-Bomb part! Paint job chips like a mother though.

-RRM carbon side mirror cover-Sooo clean, love it. Right mirror cover of a little bit. Prob just the mold of it, it curves where it should still be straight. Only noticed upon a closer look. Never brought up to RRM

-EVO X parts carbon gauge pillar-Love it but its only for one gauge so wish I could find one with more. Also had a small issue with it as mentioned above.

-Autometer Boost Guage-these guys never go wrong as far as I know. A chip of paint came off the needle though, picky of me but I notice stuff like that.

-Megan Racing Seats-props to RRM for install while they did my clutch. Actually gave me the ones right out of their own car. Got some time on them, my seat creeks when I sit now but I like em lots.

-RRM carbon spark plug cover-awesome look

-RRM carbon fuse box cover-I wish I had a clear hood just to show that one thing! Props to Rob

-Some custom works by me to include painted valve cover and blackened tail lights. I think Im too heavy handed. Tail lights look good but lost that OEM feel to me. The ralli art lights from RRM will cure this.

Here’s some quick pics, not very good but no time. Time is money, and I don’t make enough feel me.
