Some stupid bird... Stupid badge!

Just a frustrating story I thought I would share and a warning.

I was driving my car home from school on Wednesday of last week when a bird **** on my hood. I thought nothing of it and just forgot about it till yesterday.

So as I am walking out to my car, yestreday that is, with bucket in hand and I decied I want to debadge my car before I clean off the bird **** and wash my car. It's about colder than a wiches tit and I just go and rip off the L, bare handed, He-Man style... well bad idea... left all of the adhesive there.

With the L gone and my Lancer now reading "ancer" I have to take the rest off. Took ten minutes for each letter and there still is some residue left on the trunk. I can still kinda make out the C and the E.

Anyhow, I pretty much give up in frustration and start washing off my car. I start with the bird **** and wash it off... by the way it was like super bird ****, it was nasty. I get my car clean and start to dry my car. Low and behold the bird **** left a stain! I was pissed. Very pissed.

Anyhow, word to everyone out there. Clean off the bird **** right away, it will leave a spot. I think it has somehting to do with our paint, cause this has never happend to me on any of my other cars. And also when doing anything to your car even as minor as debadging your car use the resources of these message boards... turns out many people have given great step by steps of how to debage a trunk... I feel so stupid for thinking it was soemthing too easy not to warrent me doing a search... I regret it now.

yup, same thing happened to me... the bird left a nice stain on my trunk lid...

I also parked under a tree and had sap drip onto my fender... well, I used "bug & Tar remover" (Turtlewax brand) and it made a nasty spot on my car looks all faded... there is no shine left on that spot!!

I was pissed about both situations.

Hey Shingen, that meguires cleaner wax works great!!!! I used it on my OZ and it cleaned up alot of stuff. Also used some on my In-Laws Monte Carlo after removing their dealer logo, which had been on for about 2 years, on the trunk and cleaned it up real nice too!!

Keep a microfiber towel and some detailing spray in the trunk. Wipe off the poop as soon as you see it.
