Exclamation one of my rim's chipped around the nut bolting area

i was removing my left wheel installing my AEM CAI like the ****in instructions sez, but found out later i coulda just removed my front bumper!!

that so pisses me off cuz i had use a ****ty torq wrench and the sides of its tip scraped and chipped huge chunks of my beautiful gunmetal off....

yep the metal was exposed....luckily as soon as i spotted the chippings, i rushed to get some grease and greased it up good, that should halt it starting to oxidate for a while.

i ran to Canadian Tire (sorta like a CDN version of pepboys) to get me some mags paint, heavy duty ****, the closes thing to my gunmetal, and plan to spray it to cover the exposed metal.

but i can't at the moment cuz using that cheap wrench is gonna do further damage. i decided to wait for the weekend and get to the garage and ask the mechanic to use the impact wrench to remove it. gonna spray it there.

someone told me that any painting product for cars have anti-rust in them, but i dont see it in the label on this spray can that it'll stop rust, should i rustproof spray it first and then paint it? or paint it first and rust it? i guess the 2nd choice is more logical.

the reason why i'm writing this is that i just wanted to know if any of u experienced this harshness from ****ty torq wrenches that scraped the rims..... what a **** off.

if so, plz tell me what is the correct way to get this fixed...

thanks alot guys.

i'm so upset..... so ironic that the more i try to keep the car in perfect condition, the more things will **** up.

thats why they make special sockets for rims...you don't need a torque wrench...all u need is a socket wrench since socket walls are thin they don't hit the rim.

and i believe you rust proof first then paint over it.

Unless you have steel rims... rust is not going to be a problem. Be carefull with the paint, it'll show if it's not the exact same color as the rest of the wheel as well as the gloss of the paint vs. the wheel. Best bet would be have it professionally fixed.
