Sparco shift knob question

OK, I want to get all Sparco stuff, but when I came to the shift knob, I'm not sure. I like my current SK, but there are some nice Sparco ones. But are there any that screw on instead of using the annoying hex bolts?

Thanks
DJ

The universal ones will need the hexbolts. So unless you find shift knob made specifically for only one size thread, they will require that sleeve and the nuts. I don't see any problem with them, though. Works fine for me.

Kind of off topic but does anyone know if they make different knobs for automatics? another style than the stock ones?

Well, it might've been the cheapness, but a few I've tried over the years have been horrible. They don't get as tight as I'd like, and I had one that was so crappy, the hex bolt screwed up the threads on the shifter. So I'm just a little wary of "universal" ones.

I had the Sparco Bio, and it used the hex bolts and worked perfectly for over a year, never came loose, just make sure you tighten them enough. I got a Greddy counter-weighted one now that screws on and I like it better.

i have a sparco carbon fiber ebrake handle for a shift knob. when you think about it they basically operate the same way. looks pretty good too. but yeah it has the hex bolts that drill into the shifter. whats really funny about it is that i have a mt shift knob for an ebrake handle. since i dont need it for parking, ill use it for sliding. no need for the ratchet mechanism in an auto.
