OK, in my ongoing quest to mod my car without breaking anything, I'll ask another question. How do you get the black slats off of the grill to paint them? I want to paint them silver (like my car) so the grill matches a little better. I just don't want to snap one trying to remove it.

 

They don't pop out...you can remove the entire grill, chrome and all and then paint, but last I looked, I saw no way to remove individual slats.

Someone, please correct me if I am wrong.

 

There sure is, remove the whole grill from the hood (6 or so bolts). Then there are a few (4-8) phillips screws that hold the black slats to the chrome part of the grill. Remove those and voila.

EDIT: I removed my black slats when i painted the chrome part of the grill to match my car's silver.
