Exclamation Switches in the ASHTRAY!!!!

Ok so the title may of lead u to believe that i put switches to my lights in the ashtray, but REALLY what i need to know is...is it possible?

All i've done so far to look at it, is take the ashtray out, and i took a pic of it to show any of you who haven't done this yet.

In the Pic...the top layer(red arrow) just seems to be the plastic running down to hold the ashtray in maybe?

The bottom layer(green arrow) appears to be some metal...like the body of the car or something im not sure.

Now the question...can all that be cut-out so i can mount my switches in the ashtray?

Thanks a LOT!

anything is possible!!

But really, yeah, you should be able to do it with no problem. Get an exacto or maybe even a dremel to cut out whatever it is you want to cut out... and go from there.

Yes, it is possible to put switches there. Someone on the forum has tried it (I believe he made his own), ?????? I'm not sure who it was, but I'll see if I can find it. I'm not sure how they turned out though....

Try PM'ing gabrielg (said he had a friend who put them in an evo), or 4-BNGR (put his boost gauge there). Either of them may be able to help, or at least get you in touch with someone who can.

im thinkin about just taking out the ashtray and putting a cover over it and mounting the switches to that, similar to the boost guage, i was originally gonna mount them on the bottom of the ashtray so i could flip the lid and than u'd see the switches, it would of been pretty ****in sweet, and 'thieves' wouldn't see them cuz they are under the ashtray lid ya know. but im not sure right now, i think i'll still try, once i have time to take off the whole console we'll see

but for now i have to get ready for work etc, than girlfriends house tonite w00t!

so give me til uh, x-mas evening lmao, unless i get really sweet stuff than it will be friday, ill keep it all updated etc.
