bodykit install question
bodykit install question
ive heard you guys talking about installing the body kits yourself......... when i get a bodykit im sure i can do it if it can be done, but for some reason i was thinking the thing had to be fiberglassed on or somthing....... maybe not maybe sooo im not sure.........thats why i posted this.......and also you guys that had your kits painted and or put on how much did it cost? like how much was the bodyshop bill for paint.... install... or paint and install..... just curious and i know price is gonna be different im just wanting to get a range going here so i can at least kinda expect what im looking forward to paying??????.......
Havn't installed one on my lancer yet, but my other car (Honda CRX) it cost me $400 for front, rear, sides, doorcaps, fenders and spoiler. Plus the rear bumper was cracked in half and they fixed that too. So repair, paint and install was $400.
-You can check out the job they did at ( http://www.onlineshowoff.com/index.a...rname=h8yourv8 ) and yeah I know it's ricey but I like it.
-Also make sure you get a few price quotes and find out the type of paint they use. They only charged me $140 for the paint and paint job if you decide to install it yourself.
-As long as the kit has good fitment you should be able to install it yourself and just pay for paint job. No matter what its made of you will almost always install it with screws and body tape unless your talking about molding the gaps.
All in all I wish I'd done it myself cause I could have saved some money. I always have to take it off to make it over bumps and it's very easy.
Sorry to ramble on. I'm just bored. Hope this helps

i guess it depends on area's. around here, its about $800 to prep/paint/install a full bodykit (we're talking normal rate, no extra work needed ie: modifications/altering stock bodypanels). it all depends on area, and who you know. you "could" pay anywhere from $400-$1000 depending on the circumstances.
