So, the 9007's having high and low has been covered. I like my silverstars, especially now that I have a set of fog lamps. Another poster has a differing opinion. To each their own.
The fogs are made by APC (number 505065 (the box has their WRX on it. it's the two bulb system one VERY bright H3 and a decorative blue light that you have to be creative with to actually get power to)). You can see them and the Silverstars in Artemis' profile.
Now, to answer your question- yes. You can, in theory, wire your lamps so that your fog/driving lights only come on when you turn your high beams on. You just have to figure out which is the high beam wire and splice into that for your + lead. I spliced into my corner marker and have the lights as soon as the switch is turned on.
Of course, most sets have a switch and you can turn them off when you turn your high beams off... I leave mine on all the time.

why would you want your fogs to only come on with your high beams? isn't this counterproductive? foglights have a low, wide dispersion that allows you to see the road during fog, high rain, snow in which the regular light from your headlight just gets reflected back by the water molecules instead of projected forward. foglights and high beams have completely opposite uses and effects.

Last saturday i bought new lights for my car. Touring Halogen Hyper whites. These damn things are bright bright. I love em. stats are 130/125 W. And they are 9007's. When i switch to high beams it doesnt get any brighter then the lows, thats how bright these are. They just do basically what they are supposed to do and light i higher elevated area. these were a good investment, it was either these or the 89 dollar PIAA's which are even brighter. The only problem with these which is not likely to happen is they get a little hot, and may warp the light harness just a bit, and thats the worse case scenario, but like i said not likely to happen. just some info for you. these cost about 26 bucks i think. Just thought that might help some of ya

Thumbs up easier

You just have to figure out which is the high beam wire and splice into that for your + lead.

You can get these connectors that just tap into instead of exposing your wires, you connect the wire from the fog lights to the tap and clamp the tap right on the wire, so if you ever remove them the OEM wire is still in tact . just fyi

It's still a splice and they're $6 for 100 at the store near my house.
And a little warpage of the harness is a bad thing. They're mucho expensive to replace and I don't think you can homgrow one of your own... but if you can, I'm sure booyah will be posting on it soon

Hardly ever use mine. Mostly run with the fogs. I blinded the cops on Broadway a couple of times, as they were driving towards me on the opposite side of the median and they responded by shining their searchlight right into my driver's side window. Didn't flash their cherries or flick the siren, tho, so I guess Xenon Ultra Blues really do rock, even in their eyes! j/k

I have the silverstars, and they are bright as hell in low beam, and of course high beam is insane. If anyone is trying to choose between cool blues and silverstars, go with the silverstars, cuz I had cool blues before, and they are not blue, even a tint.

This is not true. Many companies, such as Catz, are now producing hi/low beam HID systems. And they are available for the 9007's.

Which PIAA bulbs are you talking about? I'm using their Xtreme White Plus bulbs and they're rated at 4000k 120/110 w. I do believe they're the highest kelvin and wattage bulbs PIAA makes, but they're not overwhelmingly bright.

Just put my silverstars in last night and I love them. They are a big improvement over stock. Just wish the manual covered that @#$% ring around the bulb. A good buy in my opinion.

running headlights at higher than stock wattage is asking for trouble. i've seen plenty of browned lenses and burnt harnesses because of this. it MIGHT not happen to you, but then again why chance it? that's A LOT of money if it does happen.
