I love blue, and oz didn't offer blue, so i got white. But, looking at the blue evo, I think i wanna change my color to that. I guess i can get it done for like 200 at maaco, right? What do you guys think? Safe decision? Anyone else try this before? Or does it just seem like a waste to paint a totally fine car, for $200. I don't know...

I had Sikken paint, very good, but $$
I did my integra the DIY way, and the most important things you need are:
- Really good prepping
- Really good compressor, not a ****ty too small one
- Really good gun, you can rent one usually, it's better than use a cheaper one.
- Good place, means ventilation, no dust, good lightning
- Talent, my friend painted mine cuz I'm not good enough at this. he's a pro and even does metallic paints (with flakes) which are a pain in the a$$ to do!
- Time.. don'T rush, put wayyyy many layers.

The only thing maaco is good for is getting a quick touch-up before you sell your car...looks great for about a year, then looks like crap. I took an old civic for trade in once, and the dealer told me $3500..I was like NO WAY....(the paint was very bad)..took the car to Maaco, paid $300. took the car back to the same dealer three months later (and 4000 miles later) and they gave me $5000 for it.....SUCKERS
lmao nice story IUP
my friend has an 89 nissan truck slammed, custom front grill, altezzas etc etc and he went to maaco...1st time they painted it the wrong color, 2nd time it started flaking off in 2 months, 3rd time they actually got it right and now 7 months later still looks decent....

yea i want to paint my car still...its already black...andi wanna paint it with a better black...cus mine sux...not really any chipes or anyting but...swirl marks galore...and i used nothing but the best stuff...weird to me...so i wax a lot...every other wash...but it would be great to get a really good paint job...like lexus paint...ever notice that lexus' always shine no matter how dirty it is?
i want to paint my car, but i'm gonna stick with the yellow only better. i don't want to change the color completely because then you'll have to either spend alot more money to get everything painted, or deal with the engine compartment and inside doors and **** like that not matching. so i wanna get yellow with like some gunmetal flakes or something. not too sure just yet, but it'll look nice.

right now i have to stick with yellow...i have alot of chips on it, and alot of black marks that wont come off....but once i get a kit or decide to just paint it...i wanna go with gunmetal with red pearl. i've already seen a girl driving a civic in my neighborhood with gunmetal and white pearl...so i thought it would look nice on the lance

DIY?
but i would really like to see some aftermarket colors on a lancer
